An unusually personal dispatch from the Kingdom — Meowloween Edition 🎃

Today, we're doing something a little different.

Usually, the spotlight belongs to our three resident troublemakers: BK, Luna, and Ziggy. And trust me, they wouldn't have it any other way.

But today, I thought I'd introduce you to the person behind the curtain.

Hello! I'm Meowmy. 👋

And here's something you might not know:

Looney & The Coons is a one-human operation.

Every comic, every silly idea, every little detail on our website, and every new corner of the Kingdom starts with me.....usually while three cats are doing absolutely nothing to help.

Well, that's not entirely fair.

They're the reason any of this exists.

Three Cats, One Very Big Idea 🐾

When Looney & The Coons began in March, I had an idea, three ridiculous cats, and absolutely no clue just how far this little adventure would take me.

I didn't know how to build the kind of website I wanted.

I didn't know how to code.

I certainly didn't know how to build a social platform.

But I had ideas.

And apparently, I'm not very good at leaving ideas alone. 🤣

So I started learning.

One problem at a time. One experiment at a time. One why on earth isn't this working?! at a time.

Somewhere along the way, I went from making silly cat content to learning web development, writing code, building interactive features, and creating an entire little world inspired by three cats who have no idea they're running a business.

So... Where Have the Comics Been? 👀

If you've been here for a while, you may have noticed that our comics haven't appeared quite as often lately.

They're not gone. I promise.

But something happened.

That little idea called InstaCatBook started growing.

And growing.

What began as another fun addition to the Kingdom has become a much bigger project than I ever imagined.

I've been spending countless hours building a place where cats can have their own Purrofiles, make furriends, share their adventures, and cause a little chaos of their own.

And because I'm just one person, sometimes one part of the Kingdom has to wait while another gets my attention.

That may happen again as we grow.

But the comics, the stories, and all the ridiculous adventures of BK, Luna, and Ziggy are still very much part of our future.

I haven't forgotten them.

A Kingdom Under Construction 🏰

There's something else I want you to know.

Looney & The Coons isn't my full-time job.

I already have one of those. 🤣

I work full-time, manage two stores, and homeschool my son.

And somewhere between work, school, family, and everyday life, I'm building this little Kingdom.

Usually in the evenings. Sometimes late into the night. And occasionally while wondering why I thought learning to code sounded like a reasonable hobby. 💀

I don't have a development team, an art department, or a room full of people making all of this happen.

It's just me, learning as I go.

Sometimes I spend hours working on something that looks like the tiniest little change.

Sometimes I break things.

Sometimes I fix one problem and discover three more. 🤣

But every time I figure something out, the Kingdom gets a little bigger.

And that's been one of the most rewarding parts of this whole adventure.

And somewhere between work, homeschooling, family, and everyday life, I'm building this little Kingdom.

Usually in the evenings. Often late into the night.

And if I'm being completely transparent? Most days, I'm running on about three or four hours of sleep. 😅

Which probably explains why some of my best ideas happen at 2 a.m.

And why some of my worst ideas also happen at 2 a.m. 🤣

Meanwhile, my three feline executives are well-rested, completely unbothered, and have never once offered to help debug a single line of code.

Whether you've been following us since our first days in March or just wandered into the Kingdom recently, I'm genuinely glad you're here.

This little world is still growing, and there's so much more I want to create.

It might not all happen as quickly as I'd like.

There may be detours, experiments, delays, and the occasional coding-induced existential crisis.

But there's a lot of love behind it.

And three cats who continue to provide an absolutely unreasonable amount of inspiration.

So, from one very busy Meowmy and three completely unhelpful feline executives...
