The King of the Castle

BK has never met a stranger, only people who haven't pet him yet.

Affectionate, confident, and completely convinced that every person he meets is delighted to see him, BK is the self-appointed King of the Kingdom. He loves attention, plays fetch, and will happily accept affection for as long as you're willing to provide it.

His royal persona may be exaggerated for the comics, but the confidence? The need to be adored? The assumption that everything happening around him somehow involves BK?

That's all him.

Yes, He's Really Like That

When BK was young, a visitor came to the house for the first time after we'd adopted him. BK immediately decided they needed to be friends.

He rubbed against their leg. Nothing.

He stood up against their leg. Still nothing.

Finally, BK climbed onto the back of the couch, stood up, and planted both front paws on their shoulder.

Ignoring BK was apparently not an available option.

The visitor laughed and said, “He's like a dog.”

Honestly? Pretty accurate.

  BK in the Kingdom

In L&TC, BK's confidence has evolved into full-blown royalty. He rules the Kingdom from his throne, expects his subjects to recognize his greatness, and handles even minor inconveniences with the dignity and restraint you'd expect from a King.

Which is to say:

None whatsoever.
